Information We Collect

AI Narrator collects only the information necessary to provide its text-to-speech services:

• Webpage or document text you choose to convert to speech — processed temporarily and sent to Google's Gemini AI API only when you generate audio
• Google OAuth authentication information used to access your own Google Drive for saving audio files
• A Google Gemini API key you may optionally provide — stored locally in your browser and sent only to the Gemini API
• Reference audio recordings (about 30 seconds) you upload or record for voice cloning
• Generated audio files that you choose to download or save to your Google Drive
• User preferences such as selected voice, language, custom presets, and playback state
• When you use the website (signup, waitlist, or contact forms), your name and email address as you provide them
• Anonymous website analytics (via Google Analytics) such as pages visited and device/browser type, to improve the website

How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

• To convert text into AI-generated speech audio
• To save audio files and reports to your own Google Drive
• To create custom cloned voices from your recordings
• To remember your voice, language, and other preferences
• To analyze usage of our website and improve it
• To respond to your support requests and provide customer service

Data Storage and Security

We prioritize your privacy and the security of your data:

• Your API key, preferences, and authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage
• Audio files and voice profiles are stored only in your own Google Drive
• We do not store your webpage text, audio, keys, or personal information on our servers
• Webpage text is processed temporarily to generate audio and is not retained
• All data transmissions use encrypted HTTPS connections

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the service providers required to deliver our features, and only when you use those features:

• Google Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com) — webpage text is sent to generate speech audio, only at the moment of generation
• Google Drive API (www.googleapis.com) — to save audio files and reports to your own Drive
• HuggingFace Spaces (jiwanghosal-vctts.hf.space) — voice-profile reference audio is sent for voice cloning
• We may disclose information if required by law, a court order, or to protect our legal rights

Data Retention

Data is retained only as long as needed:

• Data stored locally in your browser remains until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data
• Data stored in your Google Drive remains until you delete it
• Data collected through website forms is retained as long as necessary to provide the requested service, unless you request deletion
• Anonymized analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' retention settings

Third-Party Services

AI Narrator and its website integrate with the following third-party services:

• Google AI API — for text-to-speech voice generation (subject to Google's privacy policy)
• Google Drive API — for saving audio files to your Drive
• HuggingFace Spaces — for voice cloning
• Google Analytics — for anonymized website usage analytics

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
