Narration sounds like it was recorded in a stairwell (echo)

Everything I generate has a slight echo to it, like the voice is being recorded in an empty warehouse. Some files are worse than others, and there's a faint static underneath. It's consistent across every voice I try, which tells me it's not a voice problem. I also ruled out my microphone since I'm not recording anything.
