Single-word inputs return silence but sentences work fine

This one has me stumped. If I send a single word to the engine — say "hello" or "TTS" — the response comes back as complete silence. No audio, no error. Wrap that same word in a sentence and it works flawlessly. I've tested it across every voice in my project and the behavior is identical.
